Oh hey. Good to see you around. As I said three years and two hours ago, I'd make a note of it if a barnstar dedicated to current events was later made. One has since been made. Do you wish to replace the Original Barnstar that was awarded to you for the London bombings articles with a Current Events barnstar? --Kizor 19:09, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods has undergone a new facelift and revamping just in time to putter away at new civic articles on the August civic holiday, the first Monday of August. Drop by and see the new colour scheme which corresponds the the provincial colours. The assessment department provides quality ratings to articles via the talk page. At the current moment the assessment department combines the communities project with the province on the Canada talk page bannerr. There is a request out to make an assessment table from the parent talk page banner or if a new banner is advised. The challenge has been met! User:CBM figured out the coding necessary! A number of various editors and administrators puttered at applying the code, and it works!! Thank you very much.

  • C class assessment is the newest addition for articles which need more TLC before being assessed as B class such as citations or wiki clean up. The article is more useful than a start class article, but isn't quite as rounded as a B class article.
  • A class articles will need more than one reviewer for reaching A class article criteria.
What's New?

What's New?: The new articles are now being identified by a robot, and new members are being invited. At Wikipedia:WikiProject Saskatchewan/New articles for instance is a new list List of company towns. Saskatchewan company towns could be added to this list as well. Coal in Canada is another new article, which could be added to with the new coal development near Hudson Bay. Also check out the new Higher educaiton task force

Automate Deletion sorting to Candidates for Deletion

  • Canadian related articles for deletion have been listed here to encourage article development and conversations at the AFD talk page. There is now discussion to identify such articles via robot similar to Australia's notice board, to enable a better canvassing of deletion tags on articles. Should there also be discussion started for a robot notification of Saskatchewan articles for deletion? A new proposal by Wolterding encompassing Article alerts would identify tagged as well as promoted articles to give a rolling new view of articles moving forwards as well as articles in need of TLC.

Hey

I see you're the founder of the RuneScape Wiki, no? Anyway, I didn't chase you down for that. I just ended up seeing the userbox you made of "Admins willing to grant rollback" while going through some pages and categories having to do with Wikipedia user rights, and saw your userbox on the top of the page. Could you possibly grant me rollback rights in the future? Not now, because I haven't contributed much AT ALL to Wikipedia, but after I've gotten a decent amount of edits. To show that I'm not a vandal, you could check my contribs at the RuneScape Wiki (I have rollback there), UnRuneScape Wiki (though this doesn't take much of a brain to edit) However I'm a sysop there. I'm also a founder/bureaucrat of the Advance Wars Wiki. My username on Wikia is InstantWinston, though I made a substantial amount of edits as Cashman286, many more than on my current account. Just gave you that info to show you I'm not any kind of vandal. Anyway, leave me a talk page message or something. I'd have asked you AFTER I got a good amount of edits, but I want to see if you'd be willing in the first place, and also so I don't forget. Thanks, Winstontalk 01:27, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

  • Version 0.7 Saskatchewan articles

Wikipedia 0.7 is a collection of English Wikipedia articles due to be released on DVD, and available for free download, later this year. The Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team has made an automated selection of articles for Version 0.7.

We would like to ask you to review the articles selected from this project. These were chosen from the articles with this project's talk page tag, based on the rated importance and quality. If there are any specific articles that should be removed, please let us know at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.7. You can also nominate additional articles for release, following the procedure at Wikipedia:Release Version Nominations.

A list of selected articles with cleanup tags, sorted by project, is available. The list is automatically updated each hour when it is loaded. Please try to fix any urgent problems in the selected articles. A team of copyeditors has agreed to help with copyediting requests, although you should try to fix simple issues on your own if possible.

We would also appreciate your help in identifying the version of each article that you think we should use, to help avoid vandalism or POV issues. These versions can be recorded at this project's subpage of User:SelectionBot/0.7. We are planning to release the selection for the holiday season, so we ask you to select the revisions before October 20. At that time, we will use an automatic process to identify which version of each article to release, if no version has been manually selected. Thanks! Orphaned non-free media (Image:Westwood One logo.jpg)

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:Westwood One logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 08:47, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Image licensing

Hey there...

I am going through a number of images that have some minor licensing issues. I came across Image:Mfac.png which you uploaded. The licensing on this image is not complete as it was uploaded many years ago. I wonder if you could follow the link to the image page and correct the licensing with a GFDL license (or other free license). If you have any questions or issues, please drop me a note on my talk page. Thanks. --Jordan 1972 (talk) 22:21, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Anashi

Information icon.svg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Anashi, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Anashi seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Anashi, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 16:40, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Anashi

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Anashi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Duffbeerforme (talk) 16:46, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Natascha Kampusch

I a recent editor war has broken out regarding the article on Natascha Kampusch. See Discussion. I was wondering if I could get your input on the situation. User:SiobhanHansa is removing information on the article. It is not vandalism but I have detected some bias in his intent because he removed more than the disputed context. If you agree with the addition could you please revent the edit. Thanks. 63.76.234.250 (talk) 20:26, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Rural municpalities
Individual categories for each rural municipality are being created. It would be good to gather consensus as to which articles should be tagged with an individual RM category. The places names which an RM provides rural government for should be within the individual category for the RM. However, should these areas also be added into the individual RM category: political divisions, points of interest, notable people from the RM, towns with their own urban governments which host the RM office? Add your comments.

  • Use of coordinates?
    • A posting from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Canada Roads A bot is going around tagging various articles for missing coordinates. One recent tagging was on Highway 8 (Ontario) (see [1]). Given that a road will have numerous coordinates, what sort of coordinates should be defined for Canadian road articles, if any? Terminus points, perhaps control cities would be obvious candidates. • Holiday wiki-presents
Give out barnstars, and let each other know that what they're doing is valued.
  • Create a guide to stave off burnout and to help another wikipedian expand Saskatchewan topics.
  • Participate in Saskatchewan Peer reviews or Community assessments.
  • Get acquainted with the characteristics of Good Articles and help a fellow member get an article to WP:GA.
  • Use the Newsletter. Add a tidbit that has helped you create an article on a Saskatchewan topic such as research materials, and ideas.
  • Help out another Saskatchewan editor and provide a peer review on their articles. Feedback can range from brief comments after skimming through a page to a full blown dissection of grammar, structure, and references. Either way, every bit helps. Reviewing another editor's article can help sharpen your writing skills, which in turn can improve the articles you write.

  • Happy Birthday!
Birthday Cake
  • According to the December 2007 newsletter, it is one year since Saskatchewan articles have had an assessment department which enable Saskatchewan articles to be rated for importance and quality. The Canadian banner was modified one year ago to help improve Saskatchewan content. Please help to assess via quality and importance Saskatchewan articles by using the parent Canada wikiproject template{{WikiProject Canada |class= |importance= | sk=yes }}
  • One year ago the new article department was also established. This new articles department introduces new wikipedia editors who are interested in Saskatchewan and also helps to monitor the expansion of Saskatchewan related articles. The new article department also alerts editors to fledgling articles which may receive tags for improvement.

  • Natural resources of Saskatchewan
    • A request has been sent out for information regarding natural resources of Saskatchewan. Can there be an organisation of articles, categories or a list in this regards to satisfy the query?

  • Saskatchewan Wikiproject facelift request
There will be a Saskatchewan barnstar sent out to any editors who can provide a facelift to the Saskatchewan wikiproject over the next few weeks. There has been a large influx of material to the wikiproject since its inception, and now the material should be re-organised and re-distributed for ease of access.

  • Maps as reliable sources
    • There is a l-o-o-ong discussion on the use of maps as reliable primary or secondary sources for wikipedia articles at Regarding maps as primary sources. This has a direct influence on highways and roads articles as well as town and placename articles.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Marisa Miller Shape cover.jpg)

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Marisa Miller Shape cover.jpg.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Wikia question

Hi, I'm C Teng, an administrator on the RuneScape Wiki, which you created. A Clan Chat for the wiki has recently been created, and all bureaucrats on the wiki are supposed to have the General rank on the channel. I know you are retired from the wiki, but it's a policy, so could you please tell me what your RuneScape username is? C Teng [talk] 02:02, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you, just checking. Also, do you remember what your RuneScape game username was? C Teng [talk] 22:36, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! Now I can rank your usernames as Generals on the Clan Chat. I know you're retired, but it's wiki policy for me to do that. Feel free to drop by the R S Wikia Clan Chat if you want :) C Teng [talk] 23:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Saskatchewan photographs
    • when you are traveling or looking through old pictures, if there are any of Saskatchewan roads, highways or Saskatchewan highway signs that you would wish to upload to wikimedia commons, it would be appreciated. It would be good to show our highways in various seasons as well as with various geographical terrains. Of especial import when getting involved with photographing highways are junctions, scenic points of interest, historical markers, intersections, divided highways, road crews, historical road crews, historical travel on highways, overpasses, underpasses and road signs showing concurrencies between various highways.
    • Besides the above photographs, there are also these articles lacking images Wikipedia requested photographs in Saskatchewan
    • If you have started an article for Saskatchewan, and wikimedia commons does not have a related Saskatchewan image, then place this code on the article's talk page below the banner for Saskatchewan {{reqphotoin|Saskatchewan}} and your request will be added to the above category.
    • If you have added a request for a map, there are now locator maps for Saskatchewan available which should alleviate some of the requests added at Wikipedia requested maps in Saskatchewan For example see Saskatoon for a locator map in use.

  • Coordinators and A Class Review
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 06:29, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
